Author's Comments

This was fun. The point was to create a poem out of something else, i.e. an article in a magazine or something. I used my mom's Pottery Barn magazine myself. It was certainly entertaining.

I like the ending, for some reason.

And...that's all. Courtesy of writer's workshop: [link]

I LOVE the ending. The last two lines are amazing on so many levels. They're a great close to the poem, and yet so ironic... hehe

haha, what better place than magazines to find the source for a found poem critiquing commercialism! :D

Thanks ^^. I'm glad you found them entertaining.

I really like the first line, how you start so well the poem. And the last two lies of the second stanza-- pure poetry! It really makes me wonder 'bout it :aww:
I don't know if this is your first attempt to found poetry, but if it is... wow! that's amazing!

Thank you. The magazine that I was pulling from was very descriptive and poetic because it was trying to sell something, so it made it easier to pull things together.

It was my first time, yes ^.^ Thank you for reading.

When they must sell something, suddenly they become poets XD

My pleasure!

I rather like that ending, too. It seems a little cynical, in a good way. I like the way you took something that actually was about frames and turned it into a poem that seems like it's only about frames in a metaphorical sense.

Thank you. The intent of the poem was based on the first line, "Tell a story". The ending just seemed to make the whole thing so... I don't know. Perhaps cynical is the right word ^.^
